What wine are you opening this July 4 weekend? Personally, I’m in the mood for a nice California Cabernet Sauvignon from the Napa Valley or Russian River, but I think instead I will go for an Israeli Cabernet Sauvignon, depending on dinner tonight. The Segal Single Vineyard tastes like it could be from Napa.

What are you drinking this holiday weekend?

    Hey buddy!

Here’s what I took with my family to the Lake in Michigan this weekend:

    Meishar Vineyard #41

    Pelter Unoaked Chardonnay 2007

    Karmei Yosef Cabernet 2005

    enjoyed them all!

and now I have just opened

Somek’s 2004 blend Bik-at Hanadiv — good gracious, this is some potent juice, unbelievably complex, and full of fruit and smoke and leather all at once. This will be one of the Killer Surprise wines in our portfolio I predict.
